Gomella, MD, FACS, discusses bone health issues in advanced prostate cancer, specifically diagnosing, preventing, and treating osteoporosis associated with the use of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). He reviews the morbidity and mortality of bone metastases, as well as the role of bone antiresorptive therapy and radium-223 in decreasing skeletal-related events in these patients.
