ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Pierluigi Bove graduated from the Medical and Surgical School at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with a thesis entitled “The role of acetyl-beta-D glucosaminidase in assessment of renal injury during laparoscopic procedures: review of intra-and post-operative complications.” Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in Urology at the Tor Vergata University of Rome, and is a Clinical Consultant at the University Polyclinic of Tor Vergata (Rome). He has been a member of the Order of Physicians & Surgeons of Rome since 1999. In 2004, he completed a Surgical Fellowship under Fernando J. Kim, MD, MBA, FACS, at the University of Colorado in Denver. He is the author of several international textbook chapters in the field of urologic laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and a reviewer for the Journal of Endourology, BMC Urology, and the International Brazilian Journal of Urology. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Italian Society of Urology (SIU), the Italian Association of Endourology (IEA), and the European Association of Urology (EAU). He is also a Golden Glove Club Member of École Européen de Chirurgie in Paris, France. Additionally, he is an associate member of the Endourological Society in the United States.
