Educational Needs
Changes occur in medicine and urology on an almost daily basis, so it is imperative that the practicing urologist remains on the cutting edge. Urologists need to keep current on assessing, diagnosing, and treating urologic conditions in the clinical setting. This meeting will provide an update on urologic cancers, stone disease, urologic reconstruction, female urology, infertility, emerging surgical techniques, and general urology.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss treatment strategies for sexual health conditions, including Peyronie’s disease and priapism
- Define the role of penile allotransplantation and penoscrotal transplants in patients seeking gender-affirming surgery, oncologic reconstruction, or traumatic reconstruction
- Recognize the complications associated with the use of transvaginal mesh for pelvic prolapse and their implications
- Evaluate options for treating OAB in geriatric patients and patients who have undergone prostatectomy
- Summarize strategies for the medical and surgical management of bladder cancer
- Explain the role of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate as retreatment for BPH
