ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Köhler is a urologist and the Director of the Mayo Clinic Andrology Fellowship in Rochester, Minnesota. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters and scientific abstracts and presented both locally and nationally on various subjects, including erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, BPH, surgical education and penile prostheses. He was co-editor for two textbooks: Contemporary Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction, Second Edition; and Surgeons as Educators: A Guide for Academic Development and Teaching Excellence. He is also the author of “Wilson’s Pearls, Perils and Pitfalls of Penile Prosthesis Surgery.” Dr. Köhler is a physician trainer for penile prosthesis surgery in the United States and in Europe. He is a member of the Prospective Registry of Outcomes With Penile Prosthesis for Erectile Restoration (PROPPER) Study—sponsored by American Medical Systems/Boston Scientific. Dr. Köhler is also the founder of the Erectile Restoration Outcomes Study (EROS, sponsored by Coloplast) penile implant registry. In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Köhler is active in education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows.
